A bit about me :)

Hey again, I'm Angelina Rudakova.
I'm a UX Designer residing in Vancouver,

I'm currently getting my bachelors of Interaction Design at Emily Carr University in Vancouver and recently returned from Philadelphia where I was studying Game Design at University of the Arts (it was absolutely as fun as it sounds).

My design philosophy

My design process always begins by working to deeply understand your business, customers, and the context your product will live in. From there I work on every step of the design process, from exploring low fidelity solutions, prototyping UI designs, and handing off useful documentation to developers.

I absolutely geek out on the science behind our behaviour, social interactions, and decision making.

I have always appreciated the nuances of human behavior – how even the subtlest of changes could have the biggest impact on one’s being.

Working on game projects has given me insight not only into the technical pipeline of creating immersive environments, but also showcased how we can account for the role of motivation and fun in other design realms!

When I’m not designing, you can find me scouting out local biking trails, making pottery, or watching too many obscure documentaries.

My process

I focus on defining the problem being addressed from multiple perspectives, understanding user needs and internal needs through quantitative and qualitative research, and establishing a framework for creating and evaluating solutions in the short and long-term. My process also involves lots of collaboration and synthesizing information, and helping to establish business goals that are in line with user goals.

My design philosophy

I could talk about the numerous prototyping tools I’ve used, or different workshop exercises I’ve done, but ultimately, the specific steps I take on any project always depend on the project goals, resources, and the team I’m working with. But on a higher level, I approach my work in a pragmatic and straight-forward way, with consideration for the context of how a product is used and made.

I absolutely geek out on the science behind our behaviour, social interactions, and decision making. And you will extensively notice this in every research stage of the projects I undertake.

I believe that even the most complex and innovative products can be easy to use.
